Meet the Veterinarians & Staff of BBVA/DVA
Beverly Mason, DVM
Dr. Mason was born in New York City, but spent most of her life in the Boston area. She had the unique opportunity to live in the United Kingdom and attend a Welsh-speaking school during some of her childhood. She completed undergraduate studies at Worcester Polytechnic Institute in the Accelerated Tufts Veterinary program, and then went on to obtain her doctor of veterinary medicine at Tufts University School of Veterinary Medicine.
Dr. Mason comes to Dedham Veterinary Associates after 4 years as an associate veterinarian at a busy referral cat practice. She is proficient with ultrasonography, dental procedures, laser surgery, and complex feline internal medicine cases.

- Feline medicine—Loves even the most challenging cases
- Surgery—Extensive experience with soft tissue surgery
- Laser surgery—Proficient with the use of surgical lasers to reduce the pain, bleeding, and swelling of almost any type of surgery
- Ultrasound—Experience with abdominal and cardiac ultrasound and also completed advanced training
- Dentistry—Practicing the most up-to-date dental techniques including dental X-ray, surgical flap extractions, and preventative care
Dr. Mason resides in Marlborough with her husband and two children. When not working in veterinary medicine, she enjoys running, skiing, and hiking with her family.
Amy Kuo, DVM
Dr. Amy Kuo grew up in Massachusetts in Sutton, near Worcester. She received both her bachelor of science in biology and her doctor of veterinary medicine degree from Tufts University. After graduation, she completed a 13-month internship in small animal medicine and surgery at Angell Memorial Animal Hospital.
Dr. Kuo practiced for 5 years on the south shore at a busy emergency referral hospital before joining Dedham Veterinary Associates in February 2008.

Areas of Special Interest:
- Surgery—Laser assisted spays, neuters, and wound repair
- Dentistry—X-rays, extraction including complex extract in surgical reconstruct

- Evaluation and stabilization of critical cases
Dr. Kuo lives in Newton with her husband, their two daughters, and dog, Happy, an appenzeller.
Kathleen Fox, DVM
Dr. Kathleen Fox was born and raised in Quebec City. She received her doctorate in veterinary medicine from the University of Montreal in 1995. She also has a bachelor’s degree in physical activity and a minor in psychology. After graduation, she pursued post-graduate studies and did a 13-month internship at VCA South Shore Animal Hospital.
Dr. Fox went into private practice for 1 year prior to joining Dedham Veterinary Associates in September 1997, and joined Buzzards Bay Veterinary Associates in April 2007. The cornerstone of our practice, she has taken care of many beloved pets over the years from puppy or kitten to senior citizens.

Dr. Fox lives with her husband, Charles, their two beautiful daughters, and their Labrador retriever.

Jamie Fournier, DVM
Dr. Fournier was born and raised in North Attleboro, Massachusetts. After completing her doctorate, she returned to New England to pursue a career in small animal veterinary medicine. Following 2-½ years of private practice near her hometown, Dr. Fournier joined Buzzards Bay Veterinary Associates.

When Dr. Fournier is not working, she enjoys reading, hiking, and traveling (most recently to Yellowstone National Park). Currently, her pets — both rescued — are Reed, from Hurricane Katrina, and Sarafina, from a local dumpster.
Elaine Gilleece, DVM
Dr. Gilleece was born and raised in the Roslindale/ West Roxbury area of Boston. She completed her undergraduate studies at Simmons College in Boston with a degree in Biology. After graduation she worked as a Microbiology technician in research at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston. The research focused on antimicrobial resistance in bacteria and hospital acquired infections. She was a coauthor on numerous research papers. She then went to Tufts University School of Veterinary Medicine to obtain her doctor of veterinary medicine degree.
Dr. Gilleece comes to Dedham Veterinary Associates after practicing as an associate veterinarian at two other busy small animal practices in Natick and then in Dedham.

Dr. Gilleece lives in Dedham with her husband. Her pets include a Princess, a Chihuahua mix adopted from the ARL in Dedham and Annie, a cat who was a former stray. When not working at the clinic she enjoys gardening, reading, working out at the gym, cross country skiing and spending time at the Cape and in Maine. She also does volunteer work with the ARL Trap, Neuter, Release Program.
Kristin Anderson, Hospital Manager at BBVA
Kristin joined our practice in April 2001. As hospital manager, Kristin is committed to providing excellent customer service to our clients, outstanding care to our patients, and a positive working environment for our staff.
She is a life-long resident of the Buzzards Bay area and spends much of her free time biking, kayaking and walking her black lab Goliath.
